Badminton is fun, easy to learn, and a great way for people of all ages and abilities to keep active.


Adult Beginners Badminton Coaching

If you’re keen to learn the basics of the game and develop your skills and technique, our new coaching course is delivered at a relaxed pace and in small groups of likeminded people of a similar ability. We’ll get you comfortable and confident on the court with a series of six weekly coached sessions.


Commencing Monday 5 September for 6 weeks

‘No Strings’ Badminton

If you and your family and friends already understand and enjoy the game and are just looking for cheap and convenient court time, our ‘No Strings’ sessions are for you. Our friendly staff will be on hand to offer any advice and guidance you may need, otherwise we invite you to just come along and get swinging.


Family session: Wednesday 14 September – 4.00-5.00pm

Adult session: Wednesday 14 September – 5.00-6.00pm

Adult session: Thursday 15 September – 10-11.00am

Gateshead Leisure Centre

*Sessions can be booked up to 14 days in advance.

£2.65 per session - concessions available.

Whickham Badminton Club is a turn up and play club. Anyone over 16 and all abilities are welcome.
