Inclusive Futures

Inclusive Futures

Lead Your Generation: An Inclusive Future is a leadership and volunteering initiative for young people, with a special emphasis on inclusion.

We aim to:

  • promote positive attitudes towards young disabled people;
  • increase participation in physical activity;
  • develop inclusive practice;
  • And empower thousands of young people to deliver activities in their local communities.

The programme offers those aged 14-19, with and without disabilities, the opportunity to work alongside each other to support and deliver physical activities in schools and communities.

Volunteers are guided by a coordinator who is based within a local sporting organisation in one of eight major UK cities; each of which hosts regular regional training camps and other events and activities throughout the year.

As well as the opportunity to attend one-off large-scale sporting events, the coordinators will be working with each volunteer to find them a placement in a school or community club. By doing so, we aim to influence and increase the capacity of local providers who can deliver fully inclusive physical activities and sport opportunities for the benefit of the entire community.

Your regional coordinator for Gateshead/Tyne and Wear is Peter Mulholland.
